Motion Blur

Time stamped displacement
Racing it seems
More than words
Our waking dreams

Blinking through moments
Neurological feeds
Dark adaptations
ISO speeds

Retinal sensitivity
Irisic absorbing activities
Overwhelmed by fractal means
Filler thoughts not noticing
Calm remains just fine

Shutter clasp precise suspension
Vision streak to mind invention
Calling pours of morning light
Motion blur like laser light

  2. LOL! Hi shakira. Much of the poem utilizes concepts from Photography.
    hugs back @ u, Adam 🙂

  3. I like the way you have used photograhic terms in this poem…sometimes when I go through my day…I feel overwhelmed by the fractals that comprise our society and our failure to see the gestalt. Thanks… I enjoyed this poem.

  4. Thanks. Interesting that you mention Gestalt. Check out this post if you get the chance http://www.ctheory.net/articles.aspx?id=349 (basic idea: The motion we see does not exist except within our perception)

Excellent rhythm made the poem feel urgent and alive! It definitely had a pace that you couldn’t escape 🙂

    • Thanks, B 🙂 Funny thing is it was a typical quiet morning when I took that photo. The police car was moving really slow. lol

    you are gifted,
    keep shining in our blogosphere,

  8. This has a real funky rap-quality for me. I liked many of the lines, especially the ISO speeds, the shutter-clasp precision. The pace of the poem races along, just like the blur. Well done!

  12. this is fantastic. the most biologically correct lovely poem i have ever read.

  13. loved that photograph. its very attractive.

  14. I haven’t read this one in a long time…. Looking through the comments I forgot Motion Blur prompted kseverny to reach for a beer. lol Awesome! That still cracks me up.

A lot going on in this poem. In learning how to use my camera—this photo taken as an assignment for a basic photography course—I tried to learn the physical concepts of my SLR camera by connecting them to info I looked up on vision. Think it helped me learn better that way.

Glad you enjoy my work, Trisha. Have a fantastic day!
