The above poem was my entry for the Thursday Poetry Rally. Many thanks to the esteemed Jingle for all the tireless coordinating she does.
About the awards:
These last couple of months I have been thinking to myself, “Self, I wish I could buy a new car.” Well, not only did I get one. Count ’em. 1…2…3… shiny new automobiles! Awesome. I always knew blogging would pay off… Seriously though, these peer awards are bestowed based upon votes in the categories of Short Stories, Art/Painting, and Humor—which is perfect because I tend to think of myself as a writer, artist, and occasionally funny.
Thank you for reading my work. I love blogging. Appreciate all who visit, comment, and encourage. That being said, my nominee for this rally is a tie between Moondustwriter and slpmartin. I decided this based on the fact that they have both been taking successful artistic risks in their respective writings. Check out their work. Congrats to them both!

To be linked side by side with my friend Charles is indeed an honor. As a writer I’ll say this- Charles takes a picture of life and eloquently portrays it into words.

What you say is true and heartfelt. I 100% agree with you in regard to the caliber of Charles’ work. As for your most recent work, in particular your 55’s, they’ve been excellent, and I am by no means the only one who has noticed that. Write on! and sincere thanks.

Adam..you honor me in two very important ways…first and foremost I am joined with my dear friend Leslie in this nomination…her words have often inspired a poem or two, but more often then not put a smile on my face or challenged my mind…second being nominated by another writer like yourself makes me a winner…for each of these gifts I sincerely thank you!

Thank you 🙂 Living in MI, I root for the Red Wings… but congrats to Chicago, it was a fun series to watch. Philly has a right to be proud of what the Flyers accomplished this year. During my stay, it seemed the entire city was behind them.

We all deserve to ride in style! Perhaps my sarcasm is a bit much, but I do think it is a clever idea to present symbolic cars as awards. lol
Thanks for the nice comment about the poetry/pics… it’s an enjoyable creative process for me, as a result 95% of the time it seems more fun than work.

I have marveled at your poetry, Adam. I have to read them out loud before I can get the feeling from them. I read this one out loud before I noticed that you had placed a reading under it. I read it like you did. That made me marvel about your choice of words. You have an incredible talent for putting words together. These poems are images enough. We get an extra treat when you pair them with your photography!

Nicely done – I love the marriage of photo and poem, and the inclusion of the audio is icing. Very simple themes, seemingly, but then you sit for a moment and let them sink in, and it becomes clear that so much is bubbling under the surface. . . great work.

Great little poem Adam! I love the ‘o’ slanting off – it’s as if the mouth is saying ‘oh’ but being slanted, it’s kind of cooing, like a head on one side! Where was this sign? the pic is gorgeuos!

Took the pic in Love Park (Philadelphia), Lynda. Spent a few days there last week. IF you look through the structure bolstering the sculpture, the Philadelphia Museum of Art is the stately building in the distance. It’s fitting that the “O” is altered; like how you describe it, nice description btw. I think the piece sends off good vibes. Witnessed many people stare and marvel at it, many of whom I saw smiling reflectively 🙂
