Humanity Displayed (for Poetry Rally)
“He breathed upon dead bodies and brought them to life. Nor sequent centuries could hit Orbit and sum of Shakespeare’s wit.”
βRalph Waldo Emerson
Time being first
Eternity resists
Happens each moment
When words leave our lips
Saint Ides to gods
Linguistic music
Pour ’cause some miss
Feelings still losing
To be and see
The urgency
Syllabic wars
Insurgency
Fool, me
Knowingly
Learning, Life
Creativity
In debt I write
Respectively…
Love what you say
Forever confusing

As a result of last week’s rally, I acknowledge the flowers (awards) I received on this fine Bloomsday. Nice. As the title of my post indicates, this was my entry for this week’s poetry rally. Jingle, thanks for including me. I accept the above awards and in turn nominate… trisha!
Congrats!
Enjoy the Rally!

Nicely done Adam. A very powerful poem with only a few words.
Update on Larry:
Larry went into the hospital last month to get well, and came out a very ill man. His stool test came back showing he has a bacteria call C Diff. This bacteria was caused by Doctor Edwards giving him to much antibiotics by IV the first time he was admitted into the hospital. I don’t blame doctor Edward he was just trying to get rid of the infection that got into Larry’s blood. I just thank God for answering our prayers, and showing the colon doctor what is wrong with Larry. Now that they know what is wrong they can start treating him correctly with the right medicines for this bacteria. Larry is still a very sick man, but I am praying this new medicine will soon help.
June 16, 2010 at 9:29 pm
Oh my goodness…. now that the source of the problem has been found, like you say hopefully treatment will take effect. Viola, we’re all thinking about Larry. I’m sure it makes all the difference having you by his side. Your care is probably his best medicine.
June 16, 2010 at 9:40 pm

June 16, 2010 at 9:45 pm
Thank you Adam, Larry has come very close to death the last couple of weeks. I am just so thankful they have found the problem in time. Thanks to all of you for caring about Larry. He is a good man who have always loved his family.
June 17, 2010 at 5:20 am
Viola, he sounds like an excellent person. Larry’s in all our thoughts. Hoping he responds well to the new medsβa step in the right direction!

I will be reading more of your work. Also, I like the audio clip…I need to to add one to my page. It makes a difference to hear the author read a poem as he wrote it.

very nice rhythm…
i read to myself first then listened to your reading afterwards… I almost wanted to sing “Vogue, Vogue…” after the third verse. π
good job, adam
June 18, 2010 at 2:46 pm
That would make a funny parody. lol Thanks π
June 18, 2010 at 11:33 am
Totally admire your poetry, once again. What caught my eye in this was really the man at the base of your monument in the lower right corner. I imagined him as the poet as I listened to your reading and it brought me into the feeling of your Shakespeare quote and solidified this entire post.
Very nicely put together.
June 18, 2010 at 3:05 pm
Leslie, you’ve got it. The respect shown in this picture may alter the meaning of the poem drastically; perhaps not like Emerson’s quote. Thanks

June 21, 2010 at 5:14 pm
Fabulously flowing and lyrical – sometimes its just like that –
‘to be and see
the urgency…’
and
‘in depth I write respectively’
Did you write this spontaeneously? it feels so ‘right’ and of the moment!
Seriously good!
June 21, 2010 at 5:35 pm
Good call, Lynda. I did write this one spontaneously. I’ve been writing more like that these days. Really glad you like it π
June 4, 2011 at 4:13 pm
