    • “you seem to enjoy capturing sculptures, monuments, architecture…”
That could be because inanimate objects can’t get mad at me over a photo. lol thanks, heartspell. Philly’s very cool. Definitely check it out if you get the chance 🙂

  10. photos say all,
    loved these,
I visited this place in 1997.
    Happy Monday!

    • Happy Monday, Jingle! 🙂 extra *smiles* 🙂 Pictures do reveal so much. I’ve visited there a few times growing up but never for more than one day at a time back then; long before I turned into a touristy geek with a camera. lol

  11. I’m lucky to live in the suburbs of this great American city. Thanks for the pics. They capture the magic of Philly quite well.

    • You are lucky. Great place. One thing I didn’t take pictures of, which astounded me, was all of the great murals on buildings! Thanks for your comment 🙂

  12. What a wonderful tour, Adam. I especially like how you photographed the statuary, especially the hand.

  13. It all looks so amazing in person! In case anyone is wondering, those two pics were taken at The Rodin Museum.

by the way may I ask how you put the slide photos there? Thank you for your help

  17. I see you use WordPress. Upload a group of photos through your media manger. When you do a bunch at once, they’ll go into what’s called the gallery. Click on the gallery tab and you’ll see them all there. Scroll down and you’ll see the option to insert a slide show. Just press that and preview. Hope this helps.

  23. Great photos Adam. I was in Philadelphia last year and visited the Rodin museum–my favorite. My sculpting teacher was a student of Rodin. I love especially the Gates of Hell, what a masterpiece! And my second favorite the Burghers of Calais. Have you ever heard the story of the Burghers, it’s an inspiring true tale of heroism. The great part about this piece is that every muscle and pose is expressive of human emotion. I really enjoyed this, thanks!

Hey Michele. Thanks. I stood in awe before The Burghers of Calais. Absolutely amazing and emotional… That’s awesome you study/practice sculpture. Sounds like you definitely had a knowledgeable teacher. You’re right about the Burghers story. Incredible.

  25. My Dear Very Special Friend Adam,
I am sorry to say but I am going to have to give up blogging for awhile. My husband has taken another turn for the worst. Once again he is back in the hospital with that contagious bacterium C Diff, plus he has pneumonia. The doctor said his immune system is gone and at this point for him this bacteria is very dangerous. I am afraid he is going to need all of my attention now. I will return someday when my husband is no longer so very ill, but right now doing everything I do in one day is beginning to be too much for me. I wish you the best of luck, and please know I have enjoyed your friendship, and poetry.

    Love and Prayers,
    Viola

    • My thoughts are with you and Larry. Please email me an update when possible.
Totally understand. You’re an incredible person, Viola. Miss you already. Please let me know what’s going on.
      sigh

  26. You are a truly talented photographer, Dustus!

Yes, that shot of the basilica reflected in the modern building makes me shiver with awe at its moving brilliance.

Gorgeous town — I had no idea. Very rich in art and architecture.

    xo

  27. Thanks, Jannie. That’s really cool. You always take great shots.
