Then you must give it a shot! It’s a fun form that challenges. Often twitter is a good source to search for new haiku π

Dustus,
Bravo. This is one of your best haiku yet. I love haiku because of its rooting in nature, but this one is especially wonderful since I live in the Rocky Mountains and know so well the imagery you have chosen. Light and Great Haiku.

I have a cousin who lives out in Colorado. She raves about the Rocky Mountains. Unfortunately, I have never seen themβthe mountains that is. Glad you enjoyed the haiku, Suzie

Hi Amanda. THANK YOU! I’d really like to finish writing more books, in addition to blogging of course π However, it’s no big secret that I know I’ve a few novels in me… would relish the chance to share them if given an opportunity!

I love how you let the eagle enter the poem the same way it enters the scene – not there at all, then suddenly massive but unresolved, and finally the magnificent bird at rest. A terrific use of the three-line structure and a wonderful depiction of the wild bird!

Appreciate your comment and enjoy your description of the poem. Cheers.
