October 19, 2010 at 2:02 pm

October 19, 2010 at 2:32 pm

October 19, 2010 at 4:09 pm
This has been happening more and more to me on my regular blog, so I’ve been listening to more music and going for walks.
October 19, 2010 at 4:36 pm
Music is a life savor, walks too. Thanks, Micheal. Good luck!
October 19, 2010 at 4:13 pm
Looks like a short block and a nice day and you’re clearly not being chased… The words will come when they’re ready…Besides, It’s no good to force it….
And in unison we all say, “That’s what she said” đ
Hugs Adam…

October 19, 2010 at 4:40 pm
Always happens when I take things a little too seriously. Thanks, bro
October 19, 2010 at 4:31 pm
Start with a word, and a word will come.
Wishing you well!

“Writer’s block is a disease for which there is no cure, only respite.” ~Terri Guillemets
I’m sure your block will clear very soon đ
October 19, 2010 at 5:05 pm
Surfing around the One Shot links always inspires me to write.
Appreciate the quote and kind words, Gabriela
October 19, 2010 at 5:08 pm
haha..YOU are something Adam you know that..;))) love the idea..but yeah..writer blocks were never my game, but i do enjoy the reading part most..within the lines of poetry, i find myself here and there, collecting some of the missing beats in me..:) SUPER one stop đ
October 19, 2010 at 5:29 pm
smiles… Glad you enjoy the pic. Hope all is well, in health especially. I’m trying to get back the beats too:)
cheers, Abeer
October 19, 2010 at 5:10 pm
Now that is a picture that says a thousand words…no need for a poem!
October 19, 2010 at 5:30 pm
hehe… that’s what i figured, SuziCate đ
October 19, 2010 at 6:32 pm
Love this! And don’t let anybody tell you that this wasn’t poetry. it was pure poetry, more eloquent than words could have been.
October 19, 2010 at 8:24 pm
Patti, you’re the best! I think we’ve a great crowd that always pushes the proverbial envelope for what “poetry” can be. It’s all good đ
October 19, 2010 at 7:31 pm
I totally know how that feels. When I’m having one I try not to think about it at all.Music I guess is always my saviour. And good pics.I look at pictures to inspire me.Sometimes pictures tells more than words can ever do!
LOVE IT!!BRILLIANT!!
October 19, 2010 at 8:27 pm
Music helps me too, as does surfing photos. Glad to know we cope with it similarly.
Appreciate you sharing what works for you đ cheers
October 19, 2010 at 8:09 pm
I’ve taken a stroll or two down that block myself..
October 19, 2010 at 8:21 pm

Clever Dustus, very Clever….bkm
October 20, 2010 at 7:33 am
Hi …bkm đ
October 19, 2010 at 9:05 pm
So many times I get in that panic mode of what will I ever write about. Usually going outside and doing chores or hanging out in the pasture gives me some inspiration! That would be my version of a walk. I love your answer to writer’s block!
Mine is here. http://razzamadazzle.wordpress.com/2010/10/19/song-of-my-heart/
October 20, 2010 at 7:37 am
I have not a pasture to clear my thoughts in (would love that), but chores and distracting excursions, whereby I can forget everything and let my mind go blank for a while, usually helps. TY, Teresea đ

phunny
October 20, 2010 at 3:16 am
Ha ha! Clever. I prefer to think that there are too many thoughts and words competing for air time which causes a bottleneck on the way to a blank page.
October 20, 2010 at 7:39 am
Nice spin on the idea, Belinda. Good way to look at it đ
October 20, 2010 at 3:37 am
Good photo.
Hope the block shifts soon enough.
October 20, 2010 at 7:40 am
Thanks, Lawrence. Glad to see your blog doing well. Cheers
October 20, 2010 at 6:23 am

October 20, 2010 at 7:42 am
I think we’re all feeling it a little these days…. quite a first 16 weeks to say the least đ Glad your back and rocking your posts, Pete.
October 20, 2010 at 7:02 am
You need break from words… and yes I agree… walking does help a lot… for me what really works is I walk to a peaceful place like a temple nearby and chant mantra “Om Namah Shivaya” get on with my meditation… which renews me… Sea beach, Rains, a walk in the woods and watching sunrise are other beautiful triggers..

I do not meditate often enough, and resolve to make a continual conscious effort to change that aspect of my lifestyle. Your comment, Shashi, makes me want to go hiking. Think I will do that. Good advice. Thank you, Sir
October 20, 2010 at 7:46 pm
Thanks Dustus and just to add… once you get that high of meditation, it becomes addictive just like jogging…. enjoy your hike…

Ahhh! What a great picture. We should have a one shot using this pic!
We all have been there. For me, I had writers block for a year. I feel like I am starting over.
Thanks for posting this
Wysteria
October 20, 2010 at 8:26 am
Hi Wysteria. That could be a good prompt. I don’t mind if people want to take a crack at the pic…. I went through a very long period of writer’s block a while backâone of the roughest periods of my life. Understand that starting over feeling.
FYI, Chris G. and I have been working on refining One Stop’s Sunday Photography feature (One Shoot). We’ve already secured some outstanding guests, and plan posting stunning picture prompts each week to further celebrate the art of photography, as well as our poetic perceptions of that form.
Cheers đ
October 20, 2010 at 12:06 pm
Maybe you have writer’s block, but not creativity block. This is so clever. It’s comforting, in a strange way, to know that we can all suffer from this same condition at one time or other.
October 20, 2010 at 7:35 pm
“suffer” it sure does feel like when motivated to write and nothing’s happening. Cheers, Myrna
October 20, 2010 at 2:43 pm
They say a picture’s worth a thousand words, but this one was worth just two. Creative One Shot, Adam!
October 20, 2010 at 7:33 pm
LOL. Thanks, Bubba đ
October 20, 2010 at 5:04 pm
Hahaha! That’s the best. Seriously, it just made me LOL. Very creative take. Don’t worry, it will come back soon đ
October 20, 2010 at 8:01 pm
TY I enjoy your good cheer, and well-wishing. I’ll certainly be back đ
October 20, 2010 at 7:29 pm
Great use of an image to communicate a message perfectly. Nice!
October 20, 2010 at 8:03 pm
Respect your feedback always, Ben. Thanks for visiting đ
October 20, 2010 at 10:51 pm
Writers block can be troubling, good thing for chocolate cake! If I could send some through my fingertips into your comment box here, I would. Chocolate always helps my writer’s block immensely. đ
October 21, 2010 at 9:54 am
Thanks, Terresa. I cannot wait for the day when goodies can be sent via blog or email! Chocolate cake always seems to help me. Yum đ
October 21, 2010 at 10:09 am
Great picture Adam! This ‘block’ is universal sometimes it seems. It’s a street (or cul de sac) everyone has visited đĻ
October 21, 2010 at 10:32 am
It’s funny how different things (muses) help in clearing that writer’s block on different occasions… don’t you think?
I hope you are out of it by now though! đ
A splendid click to explain a not-so-splendid phenomenon!! đ
As ever, you rock Adam!
October 21, 2010 at 12:05 pm
I’m out of it. No worries, Kavita, though it does seem intense and futile when going through it. Appreciate your kind encouragement. Cheers đ
October 21, 2010 at 1:20 pm

October 21, 2010 at 1:32 pm
Ha! Is that what you do, Bri? I usually just break them with karate kicks. lol
smiles, buddy
October 22, 2010 at 9:10 am

May 26, 2011 at 6:26 pm
I’m in danger of sounding arrogant here but i have yet to encounter this writers block. I am dreading the day. lol
Fight it Adam, unless of course you are just posting this for humour
May 28, 2011 at 7:55 am
Adam, this is clever and cool!!!!
June 22, 2011 at 4:44 pm
I hath no idea how I landed here but I hath certainly enjoyed browsing thy art and indeed thy Space, I trust that thou wilt be enjoying a very dark and exciting evening, opposed to waiting to see what happens as thou step beyond the block and out of the void…
There are no boundaries when fluently writing, thy pen pressed to paper eagerly transposing from one scenario to the next, scrawling the words as thou energies surge upon the once blank sheet of paper, engulfing the moment with an array of interesting pieces of the puzzle, indeed a snapshot of the finished article imprinted into thy psyche and once pushed to completion then the journey continues as thy reader base delves deeply into thy waking mindset, forging a path into thy legend, a chronicle of speculative for instances to enhance the moment and to captivate, in readiness for thy next chapter, so much so is the art of writing and the writer, an artist in his own realm of brilliance…

Always hate seeing that sign…
August 8, 2011 at 10:07 am
I miss reading you / listening to you read every Sunday, Adam. I do appreciate, however, that every writer needs the hiatus to reaffirm the purpose behind writing. I do hope to see you posting again in the near future.
August 12, 2011 at 2:56 pm
I echo Kerry. You are much missed. The block can be bad, but there’s always something to say, even if you just say it to yourself or write down a dream. Write something every day, is my motto, when this happens, even if it’s total drek, and just keep the synapses in the habit of wrestling with words. But everyone has their own way of dealing. Thoughts are with you my friend.
August 21, 2011 at 1:02 am
yes but I know you have more tucked under the other arm…
Hugs Mr. Dustus

October 5, 2011 at 8:08 pm
Thanks Everybody. I’ll probably post sometime soon; not really sure when. There have been changes to just about all major aspects of my life since summer began. Overall, I’m in a much better place now. Writing tonsâsloppily, though feeling as if almost back and perhaps on a better track mentally. The time away has been good for me. Almost there.
@ bmiller “You talking to me?” (said in best De Niro voice) lol đ
And about this picture… that’s me walking away from my old writing spot. Was sad to leave. I’m grateful to be back in Michigan.
October 5, 2011 at 8:20 pm
