So he lives!
Spray upon white brick
Smile, Ray Bans
Peace flashing
Visions from Kool-Aid breakthrough…
Sun beam reflects light

Thanking Stars (Flash 55)

Posted in Flash Fiction, One Stop Poetry with tags , , , , , , , , , on October 1, 2010 by dustus

Lily held a leftover summer sparkler before her face. Together, enclasped hands sway strolling lakeside. Life renewed. She touched the thumbnail band aide signaling turns from concussion.

Could barely remember myself—only her—powdery sweet mixing with conditioned hair, scratched skin. Enlightened in arms, my solitary thought after hours’ oblivion stood thanking stars we made it alive.

The above Flash 55 was for written for my friend G-Man.

Thanks, G. Enjoy your trip!

The Mind’s Eye

Posted in Blogging Awards, Image Poetry, One Stop Poetry with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on September 7, 2010 by dustus

Stare into these mystical eyes
Motion tween the shutter finds
Amid blinks of human passerbys
Visualize an empty mind

Open third skylight
Main being reclined
Breathing swell & then subsides

Calm frights at rest
There is no better
Feeling set open
You don’t remember
Time past life
This year, September
Homesickness
Can’t last
Going on
Forever

Captive on display
Prison echos shook
Rattling chains
Spectator looks
Tranquil, tased, electric hooks
Fish bowl, space drained, peace tamed, life took

Hours our minutes
Existence fades with sleep
Becoming accustomed
Keep living this dream

Fall Again

Posted in Image Poetry, Poetry Reading with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 24, 2010 by dustus

It’s because we fall again
After summer’s glow
Awakens feelings in time
You know

Resistance cannot understand
Veins like maps on leaves and hands
Folded, covered by the land
Awaiting autumn, life felt grand
So much love I cannot stand

Decomposing soil states
Absorbing matter after breaks
In all glory seldom late
Perhaps an early heated space

Taking this moment
Fate peaks in stead
Fall again
To be human

Cherished gifts float peacefully brief
Nature rains confetti streams
From under earth soon harvesting
Growth through cold air
Inspiring

Rain on the Sidewalk

Posted in Image Poetry, Poetry Reading with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on August 10, 2010 by dustus

Taps give into thunder
Sky tears apart
Missing ozone
Wet land heart

Time to save
What you forgot
Rain on the sidewalk
Pattering lots
Frozen splash
Bubbling drops
Brimming wonder
Shuttering shot

Pain that washed
Imagining free
Rainy days puddle
Cleansing daydreams
